PM Masrour Barzani Commends Kurdistan Women’s Union on 73rd Anniversary
Masrour Barzani, Deputy President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), issued a formal statement today congratulating the Kurdistan Women’s Union on the 73rd anniversary of its founding.
In his message, Barzani extended “warmest congratulations to the Secretary, members of the Secretariat Bureau, and all members of the Kurdistan Women’s Union,” wishing them continued progress and success in their work.
Barzani highlighted the historic role of the Union, emphasizing its longstanding contribution to defending women’s rights and supporting the broader national struggle of the Kurdish people.
“Throughout the history of the people of Kurdistan, the Kurdistan Women’s Union has played an important and pioneering role,” he stated. “They have always been at the forefront of defending women’s rights and the legitimate rights of the people of Kurdistan. They have been unparalleled supporters of the Kurdistan Peshmerga forces and a shining example of struggle, sacrifice, and selflessness.”
He also praised the organization for helping develop generations of women leaders and strengthening the presence of women in political and social life.
The KDP Deputy President concluded by expressing his hope that the Union would continue its active and influential role in serving the women of Kurdistan.
“I hope the Kurdistan Women’s Union will continue its pioneering role and organizational struggle to achieve its objectives, in order to further serve the women of Kurdistan and defend their rights and aspirations,” he said.
