Prime Minister Masrour Barzani of the Kurdistan Region received the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Iraq, Irfan Siddiq, on Sunday, 16 November 2025, to discuss the latest political developments following Iraq’s federal parliamentary elections.

During the meeting, Ambassador Siddiq congratulated Prime Minister Barzani on the successful conduct of the elections, expressing hope that the outcome would contribute to strengthening security and stability across Iraq and improving public services for citizens.

Prime Minister Barzani emphasized that the Kurdistan Region’s priority is the policy agenda of the incoming federal government, particularly its commitment to the Iraqi constitution, adherence to existing agreements, and readiness to address long-standing disputes between Erbil and Baghdad through lasting, constitutional solutions.
