As part of his ongoing field inspections to monitor the progress of service and infrastructure projects across the Kurdistan Region, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Thursday visited the construction site of the Kassanazan–Komsapan dual carriageway project to assess the stages of work and completion.

The project, regarded as one of the vital infrastructure initiatives within Erbil Governorate, is being implemented by Hemen Group Company.

During the visit, Prime Minister Barzani praised the efforts of the engineers, technical teams, and workers engaged in the project, emphasizing the need to adhere to the designated timelines and to ensure that construction is carried out in full compliance with approved technical and engineering standards.

The 15-kilometer road begins at the end of Kassanazan Street and extends to Darbandi Komsapan. It features two main directions (both ways), each consisting of two primary lanes and one emergency lane, with a total width exceeding 10 meters per direction.

The project also includes the construction of four bridges, one underpass (tunnel), and 40 box culverts of various sizes, along with protective fencing and a comprehensive water drainage system.

Prime Minister Barzani reaffirmed the Kurdistan Regional Government’s continued commitment to enhancing infrastructure and improving transportation networks, underscoring that such projects are essential for promoting economic growth and facilitating connectivity between urban and rural areas.
