The President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has appointed H.E. Saeed Mubarak Al-Hajri, Minister of State, as Special Envoy for Economic Affairs to the Kurdistan Region.

On Thursday, September 11, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, received H.E. Saeed Mubarak Al-Hajri in Erbil, following his appointment by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The appointment of a special envoy by the United Arab Emirates—one of the region’s and the world’s most advanced economies—carries significant importance for the Kurdistan Region. It reflects the UAE’s confidence in the Kurdistan Region’s investment climate and underscores the potential for advancing joint economic and development projects.

This initiative is expected to play a pivotal role in attracting greater investment, facilitating the entry of Emirati companies into the Kurdistan Region across diverse sectors, and expanding bilateral trade. It will also create new opportunities for exports and imports, thereby strengthening economic ties.
