President Masoud Barzani on Thursday received a high-level delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), led by H.E. Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State and Special Envoy for Economic Affairs in the Kurdistan Region. The meeting took place at the Salahuddin Resort.

The Emirati delegation expressed its pleasure at visiting the Kurdistan Region and meeting with President Barzani, describing the UAE as a close friend and committed partner in strengthening ties with the Region. The delegation also conveyed greetings from the UAE leadership and rulers to President Barzani and thanked him for the warm reception, as well as for the constructive discussions held in Erbil. They emphasized the opportunities available to expand economic cooperation and explore other fields of partnership in the near future.

President Barzani welcomed the delegation, voicing his appreciation to the government, leadership, and people of the UAE for their longstanding support to the Kurdistan Region. He recalled the assistance provided by the UAE through humanitarian organizations, particularly during the influx of hundreds of thousands of displaced persons to Kurdistan. President Barzani reaffirmed his readiness to further deepen relations and strengthen bonds of friendship between both sides.

The talks also touched on regional developments and the broader situation in the Middle East.
