KRG Prime Minister Opens International Real Estate Investment Exhibition in Erbil

Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Masrour Barzani, on Tuesday inaugurated the sixth edition of the International Real Estate Investment Exhibition in Erbil.

The four-day event has drawn the participation of 280 major local and international companies specializing in real estate and investment. Following the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Barzani toured the exhibition’s halls and pavilions.

In a press statement, the Prime Minister highlighted the growing international interest in the event, stressing that the number of foreign companies joining the exhibition increases each year. He attributed this growth to the stability enjoyed by the Kurdistan Region and expressed hope that such progress would continue in the years ahead.

Barzani underscored the importance of learning from the expertise of other countries in advancing the Kurdistan Region’s development, noting: “Our country is moving towards a better and more advanced phase, which will bring good to everyone.”

Reaffirming his government’s commitment to economic diversification, the Prime Minister pointed out that the technology sector is among the key areas receiving special attention.

On relations with the federal government, Barzani announced that KRG delegations are currently engaged in talks with Baghdad regarding non-oil revenues, adding: “We are on the verge of reaching a final understanding on this issue.”

Regarding oil exports, he stressed that the Kurdistan Region faces no problems either with producing companies or with the federal government. The remaining dispute, he explained, lies between the companies and Baghdad, with firms seeking guarantees to secure their financial entitlements.
