KRG Prime Minister Calls for Immediate End to Sulaymaniyah Clashes, Urges Restraint
Masrour Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), issued a urgent statement today calling for an immediate de-escalation of the violent clashes occurring in the city of Sulaymaniyah.
In his statement, Prime Minister Barzani asserted that the ongoing tensions are a direct threat to the security and stability of the entire Kurdistan Region. He emphasized that all involved parties must "exercise self-restraint" and work to "immediately halt these clashes."
Expressing deep concern for the safety of citizens, Barzani specifically warned against the youth of the country becoming victims of the violence. "Any issues or disagreements must be resolved through legal means," the Prime Minister stressed, advocating for peaceful and lawful resolutions over conflict.
The KRG leader also confirmed his active personal involvement in crisis management, stating, "I am engaged with all parties in efforts to end these tensions and prevent bloodshed and violence."
