Kurdistan Regional Government Announces Major Progress in 24-Hour Electricity Project

Erbil, Kurdistan Region – The Ninth Cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has made significant strides in its ambitious plan to provide 24-hour electricity to residents across the region, with over 30% of the population now benefiting from uninterrupted power supply.

500,000 new households connected to the 24-hour electricity network.
1,840 megawatts added to the power grid, boosting total capacity to 8,200 megawatts.

3,503 infrastructure projects completed to enhance electricity distribution.
2,100 private generators phased out, reducing reliance on costly and polluting alternatives.

KRG officials confirmed that, if current progress continues, the entire Kurdistan Region will have 24-hour electricity by the end of 2026, fulfilling a long-standing demand of citizens.
