Kurdistan Region Launches Electronic Hajj Registration System
Erbil, Kurdistan Region – The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) officially launched an electronic registration system for Hajj pilgrims on Sunday, August 10, allowing citizens to apply for the annual Islamic pilgrimage through their mobile phones or computers.
The new digital platform aims to streamline the application process, ensuring greater efficiency and transparency. Each applicant is permitted to submit only one request, with the system designed to provide equal access for all.
In addition to Hajj applicants, the system also caters to doctors, religious scholars, families of martyrs, and companies organizing Umrah pilgrimages. Applicants will receive real-time notifications at every stage of their application process.
Authorities anticipate around 150,000 applications this year, reflecting the growing demand for an organized and digitized Hajj registration process.
