Erbil, Kurdistan Region – Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Sunday congratulated the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) on its 50th anniversary and called for the urgent formation of a new KRG cabinet to address ongoing political and economic challenges.

In an official statement, Barzani emphasized the need for swift action to establish a new government, stating, “I stress the urgent need to form the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government as soon as possible so that it may continue its reform agenda, serve the people of Kurdistan, and address both regional and local challenges effectively.”

His remarks come amid prolonged delays in government formation, which have drawn criticism from citizens and analysts. The KRG also faces pressure from Baghdad over budget disputes, further complicating governance and economic stability.
