President Masoud Barzani met with Dr. Ali Al-Qaradaghi, President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, and his accompanying delegation. The meeting took place at the Salahaddin Resort and focused on regional political developments and internal affairs in the Kurdistan Region.

During their discussions, President Barzani and Dr. Al-Qaradaghi exchanged views on the evolving political situation in the Middle East, particularly the future of the Kurdish people in Syria. Both sides emphasized the importance of dialogue and peaceful solutions as the only viable path for resolving disputes among Syrian parties.

The delegation also commended the constructive steps being taken by political actors in Turkey to achieve a peaceful resolution, describing them as encouraging and necessary for regional stability.

In addition, the internal political dynamics of the Kurdistan Region were addressed. The talks included an overview of the current state of relations between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the federal government in Baghdad. The ongoing discussions regarding the formation of the KRG’s tenth cabinet were also a key point of focus.

The meeting reflected a shared commitment to dialogue, stability, and peaceful political progress both within the Kurdistan Region and in the broader region.
