Erbil Water Supply Project Nears Completion Ahead of Schedule

Erbil, Kurdistan Region – The $480 million Erbil Water Supply Project is set to be completed ahead of its original deadline, with officials confirming that 75% of the work has already been finished due to round-the-clock efforts.

The massive infrastructure project, which aims to resolve the city's long-standing water shortages, is now expected to be fully operational by this summer. Once completed, it will supply 20,000 cubic meters of water per hour and significantly improve water access for residents.

Key Features of the Project:

500 kilometers of pipelines being laid across Erbil.
Expansion of water distribution networks in neighborhoods.
Creation of 5,000 direct and 20,000 indirect jobs.
Construction of 1,000 new water wells to ensure sustainable supply.

Officials say the project will solve Erbil’s water crisis for the next 30 years, providing a reliable and efficient system for the growing population.

With construction progressing rapidly, the Erbil Water Supply Project stands as one of the Kurdistan Region’s most vital infrastructure developments, promising long-term benefits for the city and its residents.
