Duhok Fans Rally Behind Team Ahead of Gulf Clubs Cup Final Against Al-Qadsia

Excitement is building as passionate supporters of Iraq’s Duhok SC prepare to travel to Kuwait to back their team in the first leg of the Gulf Clubs Cup final against Kuwait’s Al-Qadsia today, Tuesday.

The Iraqi fans are set to fill the stands with chants of "Yellow

Identity" and "Mountain Identity" throughout the match, aiming to inspire their players to victory. Duhok’s coach, Masoud Meral, expressed his pride in the overwhelming support, telling Rudaw, "I have never seen such joy before. If the world were open, 10,000 of our fans would be in Europe, and 50,000 more—no visas needed. When I see this happiness, I just wish people knew who our players are. That’s what matters."

On the opposing side, Al-Qadsia—the two-time Gulf Clubs Cup champions—are determined to claim a historic third title. Their coach, Zeljko Petrovic, acknowledged Duhok’s impressive journey, stating, "Their young coach has done well, especially for a club like Duhok. The people of that region, like Erbil and Duhok, haven’t experienced such success in years. This is a great moment for them."

As Duhok, representing Iraq’s Bahdinan (Kurdistan) region, seeks to make history, Al-Qadsia looks to continue its dominance in the tournament. The highly anticipated clash promises thrilling action as both teams vie for continental glory.
