Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Visits Qatar to Strengthen Ties, Discuss Investment Opportunities
Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani arrived in Doha on an official visit today, where he held high-level meetings with Qatari officials to discuss bilateral relations, regional developments, and economic cooperation.
During his visit, Prime Minister Barzani met with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani. The two leaders discussed the latest developments in Iraq and the broader region, emphasizing the importance of stability and cooperation. They also exchanged views on enhancing ties between the Kurdistan Region and Qatar in various fields, including politics, economy, and culture.

In a separate meeting, Prime Minister Barzani engaged with Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al-Thani, Chairman of the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), and Mr. Mohammed Saif Al-Sowaidi, CEO of QIA, to explore investment opportunities in the Kurdistan Region. The discussions focused on potential Qatari investments in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and tourism, which could contribute to the economic growth of the Kurdistan Region.
Prime Minister Barzani highlighted the Kurdistan Region’s favorable investment climate and reiterated his government’s commitment to providing a secure and business-friendly environment for foreign investors.
This visit marks a significant step in strengthening diplomatic and economic relations between the Kurdistan Region and Qatar, with both sides expressing optimism about future collaboration.
