Iraqi MP Highlights Development Projects in Makhmour District
Iraqi Parliament member Ikhlas Al-Dulaimi has announced the initiation of several key development projects in Makhmour District, emphasizing the importance of reconstruction in the region. During a recent visit to the district, Al-Dulaimi expressed her gratitude to the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, for allocating land to build a new hospital.
Al-Dulaimi, accompanied by the Deputy Governor of Nineveh, Sirwan Roj Bayani, toured Makhmour to assess the current state of services across various sectors. "Our visit aims to follow up on the service situation in all areas of Makhmour District," she stated.
She highlighted the district’s urgent need for improvements in health, education, and infrastructure, particularly the construction of new schools. "Makhmour requires extensive reconstruction, especially in health and education. It’s crucial to engage with the service administrations, including those responsible for education, water, and electricity," Al-Dulaimi noted.
One of the most significant projects underway is the Makhmour Water Project, which Al-Dulaimi described as vital for local agriculture. "This project brings substantial benefits to farmers, and it has already made notable progress," she remarked.
Upon completion, the water project is expected to benefit hundreds of villages in the area. In addition to the water project, Al-Dulaimi announced plans for expanding Makhmour’s healthcare infrastructure. "We have secured land to develop Makhmour Hospital into a 100-bed facility, a crucial step forward for the region," she revealed.
Furthermore, Al-Dulaimi confirmed that land has been allocated to the Ministry of Electricity for the construction of a new power station in Makhmour. "The area needs comprehensive restoration and improved projects to enhance the quality of life for its residents," she concluded.
These initiatives are part of a broader effort to address the longstanding needs of Makhmour District and support its residents in rebuilding their community.
