The Iraqi government is closing all its land, water and air border gates.

The Iraqi Supreme Security Committee for Elections has decided to suspend traffic at all border gates and airports for three days from 9-10-2021.

The decision was taken to ensure the security and better conduct of the early Iraqi parliamentary elections, which are scheduled to take place on 10-10-2021.

In addition to closing the gates, the Iraqi government has decided to ban traffic between the provinces in the next three days and to ban the flights of any type of drone.

In this election, 24 million 299 thousand people in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region have the right to vote. Eight thousand 273 polling stations have been set up and distributed across 55 polling stations.
