According to reports, the family and relatives of Yasser Mankouri, from Piranshahr (western Iran), whose arrest was reported on July 17, said that Iranian intelligence men contacted them announcing the death of their son.
At the same time, some sources, including the "Hengau" human rights organization in Iran, reported the death of Yasser Mankouri as a result of torture in an Urmia intelligence detention camp.
Some relatives of Yasser Al-Mankouri's family said that the details and method of Yasser's death have not been clearly communicated to the family so far, and that they are waiting for a response from the Iranian authorities.
The fate of Yasser Mankuri has been shrouded in mystery for nearly two months, since the news of his arrest was published on July 17, until September 12.
However, after two months of uncertainty about Yasser Mankouri's fate, the Piranshahr intelligence service in West Azerbaijan (Northwest Iran) announced on Sunday, September 12, during a call with Mankouri's family that their son had been killed.
Rahim Mankouri, (Yasser Mankouri's uncle), told Iraqi Kurdistan media, "during the past two months, the security services were expressing that they were not aware of his nephew's fate, and his family discovered when they went to the Piranshahr registry office that the intelligence service had issued a death certificate to Yasser Mankouri."
Some sources also reported at the same time, "Yasser Mankuri, who is 31 years old, father of two children, was arrested by the intelligence services on Saturday, July 17, after he left his home and was transferred to one of the detention centers of this security institution in Urmia.
