A representative of both the Peshmerga and Interior Ministries in the Iraqi Joint Operations Command, major-general Abdul Khaliq Talat, told the official website of the Kurdistan Democratic Party that on Wednesday, the Peshmerga forces, in collaboration with their allies in the Zana and Dawood areas, carried out an operation against ISIS on the border of Tuz Khurmatu district. He also added that the Peshmerga forces attacked on the ground, and the coalition carried out the operation by airstrikes.
"As a result of the operation, eight ISIS militants were killed, two vehicles and three motorcycles were destroyed, and several barracks were destroyed," said Abdul Khaliq Talat.
"The areas are Kurdish-inhabited, and the Peshmerga and the coalition forces carried out the operation and did not involve Iraqi forces," Talat also said.
