ERBIL — A man on Monday killed two of his sisters at their family residence in central Kirkuk, police said.

Kirkuk police spokesperson Amer Nouri told BasNews that the brutal murder had taken place in Rahimawa district of Kirkuk.

“He killed his sisters and escaped. We have launched an investigation and currently looking for the perpetrator,” Nouri added.

According to police, a brother of the fugitive man has recently been arrested for murdering his uncle.

Police declined to comment on the possible motivations behind the murders as the investigations are still underway.
