ERBIL - The Kurdistan Region's Health Ministry said on Sunday that it had detected nearly 70 new cases of the coronavirus within the past day.

Out of 3,775 suspects who took the test for COVID-19 on Sunday, at least 68 individuals were found positive for the novel virus, while 968 patients were discharged from the hospital, the ministry said in a statement.

The coronavirus also claimed the lives of six people.

The new reports took the coronavirus tally across Kurdistan Region to 104,402, with 79,970 recoveries and 3,424 deaths.
