ERBIL — Kurdish prominent leader and the president of ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Masoud Barzani, received Hans Akerboom, the Consul General of the Netherlands in Erbil, today to discuss the latest developments in the region and their bilateral ties.

Barzani thanked the Netherlands for the continued support to the Peshmerga forces during the war against the Islamic State (IS), as well as Amsterdam’s support for development of Kurdistan Region’s agriculture sector.

Akerboom reiterated his country’s commitment to continued support for the Kurdistan Region in different fields, according to the readout of the meeting.
