The American coalition destroyed three shelters IS in Northern Iraq
The US-led coalition, with the assistance of the government of Iraq, destroyed three shelters IS in an airstrike, according to a press release from the Joint joint task force of operation Unwavering resolve (CJTF-OIR).

“In coordination with the government of Iraq, coalition aircraft destroyed three IS camps in Wadi al-Shai in Iraq on June 19,” the statement said.

According to the coalition, Wadi Al-Sheikh is a rural area in the province of Kirkuk, which is known for being the location of shelters for IS militants.

Since Iraqi security forces and the “Syrian democratic forces” destroyed the last fortified area IS in March 2019, terrorists have started using shelters in rural areas.

“The Iraqi security forces have a tactical advantage against IS; airstrikes help destroy IS targets in areas that are difficult for standard vehicles to reach… Each targeted coalition airstrike is conducted at the request of the government of Iraq to help achieve the final defeat of IS,” said coalition spokesman Colonel Myles Caggins.
