The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) cited "reliable sources" as saying that the two victims, said to be brothers, were found dead on the outskirts of Al-Takkihi village with gunshots on their bodies.

SOHR further explained that "the bodies are of two brothers, one is an[ Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces] SDF fighter and the other is a civil employee of the “Municipality of The People” in Al-Busayrah city."

They were kidnapped by unidentified gunmen, believed to be IS militants, in the town of al-Shuhay earlier on Sunday, the monitor said.
