ERBIL — The Kurdistan Region Parliament has sent over 200 lawmakers and staff members for COVID-19 test after a clerk was diagnosed with the novel virus.

MP Zana Khalid told BasNews that the results for 100 tests have so far all came out negative.

Results for the rest of the tests will be announced later today, Khalid said.

Earlier on Tuesday, Parliament Secretary Muna Qahwachi confirmed the infection of one clerk at the parliament administration and said that all presidency meetings with parliamentary blocs had been canceled for the outbreak.

As of 10 June, Kurdistan Region has confirmed 1,611 coronavirus cases, with 29 deaths.
