ERBIL - Kurdistan Region's Health Ministry said in a statement that more than 60 new coronavirus cases were confirmed on Monday evening while another patient died.

At least 51 of the infections were detected in Sulaimaniya province while ten people tested positive for the coronavirus in the capital Erbil, the ministry explained.

Moreover, a 44-year-old man lost his life from COVID-19 in Sulaimaniya province, taking the death toll to 28 in the Kurdistan Region.

The new reports bring the total number of infections, since the outbreak of the novel virus in the region, to 1,386, the ministry said.
