ERBIL - More than a dozen of Islamic State (IS) jihadists were killed in airstrikes carried out by the US-led coalition in south of disputed Kurdish province of Kirkuk on Tuesday.

Daquq Mayor Lwis Khidhir confirmed the report to BasNews and explained that at least 13 insurgents were killed in the air raids in the region.

This comes a few hours after Iraq's PM Mustafa al-Kadhimi arrived in Kirkuk to monitor an operation against the Islamic State in the region.
