Kurdistan to Open Schools ‘Only for Exams’: Education Minister
ERBIL — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has decided to open schools only during the exam session as the new coronavirus is still threatening the region, said Education Minister Alan Hamasaid.

The KRG has closed down all kindergartens, schools, and universities since February 26 as part of the measures to fight the spread of the novel virus.

Speaking at the parliament on Wednesday, Hamasaid said students on grade 1 to 11 will return to schools only for the exams at the end of the school year.

“This was decided during the cabinet meeting yesterday [May 5],” the minister pointed out.
