ERBIL - With new reports on Monday, the total number of coronavirus infections in Iraq reached 1,378, the health ministry said in a statement earlier the evening.

In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, 26 people have tested positive for COVID-19 across Iraq, with the Kurdistan Region reporting no new infections during the same period of time.

Meanwhile, 77 other patients recovered from the novel virus and returned home, bringing the total number to 717, the ministry added.

However, 78 patients have so far lost their lives from the coronavirus in Iraq, the statement concluded.
