Iraq’s PM-Designate Plans Snap Elections within a Year
Zurfi touched upon the issue in his future cabinet’s agenda he submitted to the Iraqi parliament on Saturday as part of the preparations for a vote on his nomination at the assembly.
Zurfi has less than two weeks to form a government amid dispute between various political parties, including the Shia Fatah Alliance led by Hadi al-Amri.
According to cabinet agenda Zurfi revealed on Saturday, his future cabinet will also work to find a solution to the disputes with the Kurdistan Region.
The agenda points out that disagreements between federal and regional governments should be addressed in a way that the constitution will be respected and partnership between components of Iraq will be honored.
