ERBIL - Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has called on the citizens to adhere to the measures and guidelines of the health ministry to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the region.

PM Barzani, meanwhile, urged the relevant authorities to take more restricted measures against those who violate the curfew and lockdowns and bring them to justice.

He further reminded that KRG's health capacity may not be enough to handle the situation if the novel virus is further spread in the region. He, therefore, urged the citizens to take the outbreak more seriously and follow the guidelines of the ministry.

The Kurdish prime minister also thanked the health sector personnel and teams for their dedicated time to combat the coronavirus.
