ERBIL - Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani and Prime Minister Masrour Barzani have allocated 3 billion Iraqi Dinars, approximately $2.5 million, to compensate the people affected by a flash flood in Duhok province.

Heavy rainfalls earlier on Wednesday resulted in great damages to nearly 400 houses and tens of vehicles in Duhok province despite the killing of two people and wounding of another in the city.

According to a statement by his office, the Kurdish president, during a phone call with Duhok Governor Farhad Atrwshi on Thursday, also expressed condolences to the families of the victims.
