Thieves Dug Tunnel to Empty Jewelry in Kurdistan’s Soran
ERBIL — A jewelry store in Kurdistan Region’s Soran district was emptied overnight Friday by thieves who reportedly dug a tunnel to access the huge amount of gold.

A source familiar with the situation said the thieves took approximately 30 kilograms of gold from the jewelry.

“The guards and CCTV cameras did not detect any suspicious movement over the night because the thieves entered the jewelry through a tunnel,” Kurdistan 24 quoted the source.

It was not immediately clear if the investigation has found where the tunnel leads to outside the jewelry.

A spokesperson for police declined to reveal details of the investigation, saying they will share information with media after the probe concludes.
