Kurdistan-Turkey Trade Not Affected by Coronavirus Precautions: KRG
ERBIL — Trade between Kurdistan Region and Turkey has not been halted under the effect of the precautionary measures against the new coronavirus, said the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

Following Turkey’s decision to suspend flights to and from Iraq till 16 March, rumors of halting trade through the only border cross of Ibrahim Khalil circulated among people.

KRG’s Ministry of Interior rejected the reports and ensured that the KRG is working on a new mechanism to continue the flow of trade with Turkey while preventing the risks of coronavirus spread.

“We ensure the people that the government spares no effort in finding a proper solution for the current situation in a way that it would not affect trade and the local markets,” reads the statement.
