ERBIL - At least four Turkish soldiers were killed on Wednesday in a car bomb in northeastern Syria, Turkey's defense ministry said in a statement.

Reuters cited the statement as explaining that the incident took place while the Turkish forces were conducting a roadside security check in the region, east of Euphrates River.

It was not clear which group or organization carried out the bomb attack, for which no sides have yet claimed responsibility either.
