Kurds Won’t Attend Controversial Parliament Session on US Presence in Iraq
ERBIL — Kurdish lawmakers will not attend a controversial parliament session in Baghdad today which is for discussions around measures to oust the US troops from Iraq.

MP Vian Sabri confirmed to BasNews that all Kurdistani blocs have made the decision not to attend today’s session.

She pointed out that the Sunni factions are also not willing to join the controversial discussion at the parliament.

Sabri reminded that the Kurdistan Region presidency has already made it clear that Kurds are against any move which could turn Iraq into a battleground for settling others countries’ disputes.

Pro-Iran factions at the parliament, all Shia factions, are set to convene at parliament today and push for ousting the US forces in reaction to Friday’s airstrike which killed Iran’s Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani and Iraq’s Hashd al-Shaabi deputy leader Abu Mahdi Muhandis.
