Rocket Attack near US Embassy, Balad Airbase in Iraq
ERBIL - Rockets were fired at the US embassy in Baghdad as well as Iraq's Balad Air Base housing the US forces on Saturday evening, with no casualties reported yet.

Reuters cited local security sources as saying that at least three projectiles went off inside the base, causing no casualties.

Meanwhile, a couple of rockets also fell inside the fortified Green Zone where the US embassy is located, one of the rockets reportedly resulted in damages to a road.

The incidents came only one day after Qasem Soleimani, commander of Iran’s elite Quds Force, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy commander of Hashd al-Shaabi, were killed in a US airstrike in Baghdad.

However, no sides have yet claimed responsibility for the attacks, and the US is yet to comment on the reports.
