ERBIL — Kurdish prominent leader and the president of ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Masoud Barzani, expressed support for a reform bill the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has submitted to the parliament.

During a meeting with KDP’s sub-organizations for women, youth, and students on Saturday, Barzani said that legalizing and implementing the reform bill would be a substantial step in improving people’s life.

He also noted that concrete steps in improving the situation for the Peshmerga forces of Kurdistan should be taken.

Earlier this week, KRG finalized drafting the reform bill, which covers salaries, pensions and allowances, to the parliament of Kurdistan Region.

The legislature is set to convene next Monday and conduct the first reading to the bill, which will seemingly receive the majority approval later when the lawmakers are set to vote.
