Parliament Receives KRG’s Reform Bill: Speaker
ERBIL — Kurdistan Region Parliament on Thursday officially received a reform bill from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), said speaker Rewaz Faiaq.

KRG’s council of ministers approved the bill with a majority vote during its Wednesday weekly session.

“We just received the draft of the Reform Bill from Kurdistan Regional Government. We, at the Kurdistan Parliament, will abide by our legal responsibilities to pass the bill in the best interest of the people,” Faiaq wrote on Twitter.

The bill is designed to bring about drastic reforms in salary and pension system of the KRG.

PM Masrour Barzani described the approval of the bill as an “important moment for the Kurdistan Region”.

“This Bill is about providing more certainty and accountability on public salaries, pensions and allowances as part of a fairer, more transparent system,” he tweeted following Wednesday’s session of the council of ministers.
