The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that its forces conducted a 13th consecutive night of military strikes against targets in Iran, with the latest operation concluding at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time on July 23.

According to CENTCOM, the strikes targeted a range of Iranian military assets, including command centers, drone storage facilities, communication networks, coastal surveillance sites, and maritime capabilities. The command said the objective of the operation was to further reduce what it described as the threat posed by Iran to civilian mariners and commercial shipping transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

CENTCOM also stated that the strategically important international waterway remains open to commercial navigation, despite recent attacks that it attributed to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The command added that commercial vessels continue to transit the strait with the support of U.S. military forces operating in the region.

The statement further noted that more than 50,000 U.S. service members are currently deployed across the Middle East.
