Nechirvan Barzani Reaffirms Support for Teachers on 64th Anniversary of Kurdistan Teachers Union
The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, reaffirmed his support for teachers and their legitimate demands in a message marking the 64th anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Teachers Union.
In his statement, the President of the Kurdistan Region extended congratulations to the Union’s Secretariat and to teachers across Kurdistan, describing educators as the cornerstone of social progress and national development.
The President of the Kurdistan Region praised the historic role played by Kurdish teachers throughout different stages of Kurdistan’s modern history, noting that they had consistently gone beyond their role as classroom instructors to become defenders of national identity, language, and values.
He emphasized that during the years of revolution and struggle, teachers stood at the forefront of spreading awareness and strengthening public consciousness, while in the post-liberation period they continued their mission with loyalty and perseverance to ensure the continuity of education under difficult conditions.
The President of the Kurdistan Region stressed that investing in teachers and improving their professional abilities is an investment in the future of generations to come. He also reiterated his support for securing a dignified standard of living for teachers that reflects the importance of their responsibilities and dedication.
In his message, the President of the Kurdistan Region commended the Kurdistan Teachers Union for its longstanding role in defending teachers’ rights and unifying educators across the Kurdistan Region.
He concluded by paying tribute to the memory of teachers who sacrificed their lives for education and the freedom of Kurdistan, while wishing the Union continued success on its anniversary.
