President Barzani Congratulates Chaldeans, Assyrians, and Syriacs on Akitu Festival
On the occasion of the Akitu celebrations, President Barzani extended his warmest congratulations to Chaldean, Syriac, and Assyrian communities in Kurdistan, Iraq, and around the world.
In his message, President Barzani wished them continued joy, happiness, and prosperity. He also expressed hope that the clouds of war and unrest would lift from the region and that peace, goodwill, and happiness would spread globally.
The Akitu festival, marking the ancient Babylonian New Year, is celebrated by one of the region’s oldest indigenous communities and reflects the rich cultural heritage of Kurdistan.
