KRG Interior Ministry Reaffirms Commitment to Regional Stability
Erbil, Kurdistan Region – The Ministry of Interior of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) on Sunday reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region’s commitment to peace and regional stability, following recent statements by several parties that included threats against a neighboring country.
In an official statement, the ministry emphasized that the Kurdistan Region has consistently served as a source of stability and peace in the broader region. It stressed that the Region has never posed a threat to the security of neighboring states.
The ministry further underscored that the KRG remains firmly committed to maintaining good relations with surrounding countries based on mutual respect and non-interference.
Authorities also made clear that they will not permit any group or actor to use the Kurdistan Region’s territory as a platform to undermine the safety, security, or sovereignty of neighboring countries.
The statement comes amid heightened regional tensions, with officials reiterating that safeguarding stability remains a central priority for the Kurdistan Regional Government.
