Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani, president of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), met on Saturday with Faiq Zaidan, head of Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council, to discuss the country’s political situation and ongoing developments in the political process.

According to a statement from Barzani’s office, the meeting was held in Pirman and focused on the broader political landscape in Iraq, constitutional entitlements of political forces, and steps related to advancing the political process. No further details were disclosed regarding the outcomes of the talks.

Faiq Zaidan heads Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council, the country’s highest judicial authority, which oversees the federal judiciary and plays a central role in interpreting the constitution and resolving disputes between state institutions.
