Barzani Headquarters Condemns Vandalism at Christian Cemetery in Koisanjaq
The Barzani Headquarters has issued a strong condemnation following the vandalism and desecration of graves at a Christian cemetery in the city of Koisanjaq on Thursday.
In an official statement, the headquarters described the incident as an “illegal and destructive act” that deeply violates the values and traditions of coexistence, brotherhood, and tolerance within Kurdish society. The act was characterized as “abhorrent” and “foreign” to the culture and principles upheld by the people of Kurdistan.
The Barzani Headquarters called on the relevant authorities to swiftly identify and apprehend those responsible, stressing the importance of enforcing legal accountability. The statement also urged officials to take all necessary measures to prevent similar incidents in the future and to safeguard the spirit of peace, harmony, and mutual respect among the diverse communities of the Kurdistan Region.
