Erbil, Kurdistan Region — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) successfully repatriated 25 citizens of the Kurdistan Region who had been illegally detained by human traffickers in Libya. The group arrived safely at Erbil International Airport on Friday morning following a coordinated mission by the KRG to secure their release and facilitate their return home.

Upon arrival, the returnees were received by representatives from the Ministry of Interior and the Department of Foreign Relations, supported by medical and humanitarian teams. The individuals underwent comprehensive medical examinations to ensure their safety and well-being.

After completing all necessary health and security procedures, the young men were reunited with their families.

The KRG expressed its commitment to safeguarding the rights and safety of its citizens abroad and reaffirmed its ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and assist those affected by such crimes.
