With deep sorrow, the leadership of the Kurdistan Region has extended condolences to His Eminence, the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, following the passing of his wife.

In a message shared on social media, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani expressed his sympathy, saying:

"With deep sorrow and grief, we received the news of the passing of the wife of His Eminence, the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani (may his blessed shadow remain). We extend our heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to His Eminence and to the honorable family in this great loss, asking Almighty God to envelop the departed with His vast mercy and forgiveness, grant her a place in His spacious Paradise, and bestow patience and solace upon all her loved ones."

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani also offered his condolences, stating:

"We extend our sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to His Eminence, the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, and to his honorable family on the passing of his wife. We ask God Almighty to envelop the deceased with His vast mercy, grant her residence in His spacious heavens, and bestow upon His Eminence and her family patience and solace. Indeed, we belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return."

The passing of the wife of Ayatollah Sistani, who is regarded as the highest Shia religious authority in Iraq and beyond, has drawn widespread condolences from leaders and communities across the country.
