ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – In a significant push to enhance infrastructure and bolster economic links, the Ninth Cabinet is overseeing the rapid construction of the strategic Shaglawa-Kore dual-roadway, a vital 10-kilometer project that is now more than a third complete.

With an investment of 90 billion and 538 million dinars, the project is being developed to full international standards and is expected to be finished within its two-year deadline, if not sooner. Officials report that 35% of the construction work has already been finalized.

A key feature of the new road will be the completion of the Mirava and Mawaran tunnels, along with all associated components. Furthermore, the design incorporates three modern interchanges, engineered to ensure a seamless and efficient flow of traffic for drivers.

Highlighting a commitment to local employment, the project is being built primarily by a domestic workforce. Upon its inauguration, the road is anticipated to bring substantial benefits to local residents and the broader region by significantly easing travel, stimulating economic activity, and improving safety.
