On the 64th anniversary of the September Revolution, President Masoud Barzani issued a statement highlighting the historic significance of the uprising for the Kurdish people.

Describing the September Revolution as a “golden chapter” in the Kurdish liberation movement, President Barzani emphasized that it was the largest comprehensive political, armed, and popular revolution in Kurdistan. He noted that the revolution inspired the Kurdish people to advance with determination toward new goals and broader horizons, achieving significant progress for the Kurdish cause.

Barzani praised the leadership of the late Barzani, saying the revolution, for the first time in history, established a solid foundation for collective struggle across all regions of Kurdistan, involving all communities and social groups in defense of justice and the rights of the Kurdish people.

He added that the September Revolution has remained a source of strength and inspiration for subsequent stages of the Kurdish struggle and that its achievements continue to illuminate the path of resistance.

On this anniversary, President Barzani expressed his deep appreciation to all cadres, Peshmerga fighters, and activists whose courage and dedication shaped the history and glory of the Kurdish people. He also paid tribute to the martyrs of the September Revolution and all those who sacrificed their lives for Kurdistan’s freedom.
