Masrour Barzani Commemorates 64th Anniversary of September Revolution, Emphasizes Unity and National Achievements
Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, issued a statement today on the 64th anniversary of the September Revolution, highlighting the historic significance of the uprising and its role in uniting the Kurdish people.
In his statement, Barzani praised the revolution as a national movement that brought together Kurds of all ethnic and religious backgrounds to defend their legitimate rights and safeguard their dignity in the face of oppression and tyranny. He described the revolution as a defining moment in Kurdish history, led by the national leader, the late Barzani.
The Prime Minister noted that the steadfastness and unity of the Kurdish people produced historic achievements, including the landmark March 11, 1970 Agreement, which compelled the Iraqi government at the time to recognize the rights of the Kurdish people officially.
“On this 64th anniversary of the great September Revolution, we reaffirm our commitment to its principles and noble goals, foremost among them the unity of the people of Kurdistan and solidarity across all its components, classes, and segments,” Barzani said. “This is essential to safeguarding our constitutional rights, protecting our national achievements, and defending the constitutional entity of the Kurdistan Region.”
Barzani concluded by paying tribute to the martyrs of the September Revolution and all Kurdish martyrs, declaring: “Glory to the memory of the triumphant September Revolution. Peace be upon the pure souls of our martyrs.”
