President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday reiterated his government’s commitment to ensuring the security and well-being of Kurds alongside all communities in Syria, describing Türkiye as a guarantor of peace in the region.

Speaking at an event in Mus province marking the 954th anniversary of the Malazgirt Victory, Erdogan declared that cooperation with Ankara and Damascus is the path to success. His comments underscore Türkiye's ongoing efforts to shape the political future of neighboring Syria.

“Those who cooperate with Ankara and Damascus will be the ones to succeed,” Erdogan stated.

The president framed this regional policy within his domestic “Century of Türkiye” vision, which centers on the elimination of terrorism and fostering stability through joint efforts. He emphasized a future of coexistence for all communities within Türkiye.

“Despite all challenges and attempts at sabotage, we will continue working toward a strong Türkiye — a nation united by shared history, culture, and values,” he said. “Turks, Arabs, and Kurds will live together on these lands forever.”

The address follows a significant recent step in Ankara’s domestic policy: the formation of a parliamentary body aimed at promoting national reconciliation.

On August 5, the Turkish Parliament officially launched the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Committee. Officials have described the committee as a major initiative toward building a “terror-free Turkey.”

At the committee's inauguration, Parliamentary Speaker Numan Kurtulmus echoed the President’s sentiments, calling solidarity between Turkish and Kurdish citizens a fundamental cornerstone of the nation’s stability.

“This process is essential for the common future of Turks, Kurds, and all citizens,” Kurtulmus said.
